1990

Establishment of ELEMKA

ELEMKA is established by engineers with long-standing activities and experience

1992

First post-tensioning bridge project

Completion of the first project involving post-tensioning and installation of expansion joints and bearings for the construction of the Peleka Bridge (Katerini – Ag. Dimitrios National Road in Greece).

1994

First application of seismic isolation

First application of seismic isolation in the “Seirios” Service Station and in the motorway bridge of the Corinth Isthmus, using special high-damping bearings.

1995

Establishment of Inspection and Maintenance Department

The Inspection and Maintenance Department is established. The Company undertakes the project of lifting the Chalastra overpass bridge (Thessaloniki – Eginio Motorway).

1996

Subsidiary of METLEN S.A.

ELEMKA becomes a member of METLEN S.A.

2001

Quality Certification

ELEMKA obtains the ISO 9001 certification.

2002 - 2004

Completion of milestone projects in Greece

• ELEMKA completes the seismic isolation project for the main bridge and access bridges of the Rion-Antirrion Bridge. • ELEMKA successfully concludes its participation in a number of Olympic Projects (Olympic Stadium, Olympic Velodrome, Katechaki Ave. Pedestrian Bridge, Canoe-Kayak Olympic Venue, Tae Kwon Do Olympic Venue etc.).

2005

Business Expansion to Kuwait

ELEMKA expanded its activities abroad, undertaking the first project for post tensioning works for the " 5th Ring Road Project" (Kuwait).

2007

Lifting of historical railway bridges in Greece

Completion of the lifting and the replacement of bearings of ten railway bridges in Greece (Diakopto – Kalavryta Railway Line).

2008

Construction of the largest railway arch bridge in Greece

Successful completion of the construction of the railway bridge in the Egaleo Western Ring Road in Athens, the longest one span railway arch bridge in Greece (120m).

2009

Business expansion in the energy sector

ELEMKA enters the energy projects' sector, undertaking the Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) activities of all civil works for the 15,5 MW Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant on Revithousa island.

2010

First energy project abroad

ELEMKA undertakes the design and construction of the civil engineering works for a 700 MW gas-fired combined cycle thermal plant in the Middle East.

2012 – 2013

Energy projects in Iraq, Jordan and Algeria

ELEMKA undertakes new important energy projects. The SHAT AL BASRAH Power Plant in Iraq, the Hassi R 'Mel Power Plant in Algeria, the Combined Cycle Power Plant and the “Fast Track Simple Cycle Combustion Turbine Power Project” in Jordan.

2014

Activities expansion in infrastructure projects

ELEMKA participates in the construction of the civil works for the High-speed Railway line “Kiato – Rododafni”, (Greece).

2015

New Entry in Renewable Energy Projects

ELEMKA undertakes the construction of Wind Parks in Trikorfa Fokidos, in Serres and Argolida, (Greece).

2016

Energy Projects in Sub-Saharan Africa

ELEMKA undertakes the design and construction of the civil engineering works for power plants, in Takoradi and Temma in Ghana as well as in Afam, Nigeria.

2017

Business Development in Special Building Projects

ELEMKA undertakes special building projects, such as the construction of a state-of-the-art office building with LEED certification in Maroussi and the refurbishment and renovation of luxury residencies in Athens..

2018

ISO Certification

ELEMKA is certified with the ISO 18001 Health & Safety system and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management system.

2020

Business Development in Energy Saving Projects

ELEMKA enters the field of energy saving projects, signing a contract for the upgrade of the Street Lighting of the Municipality of Volos.
